The firm of Stromsland and De Young, Architects, Inc. was organized by John
Semitekol and Robert Larson in 1955. Mr. Stromsland joined the firm in
1963 and became a partner in 1967 with the formation of Semitekol, Larson and
Stromsland, Inc. A reorganization occurred in 1977 with Mr. De Young
joining the firm
in 1979 and the name of the firm became Stromsland and De Young, Architects,
Inc. The firm has provided continuous architectural service to municipal,
institutional and commercial clients in the Chicago land area for over 50 years.
A principal of our firm is always the project manager, from the initial
interview until the last construction visit. We have retained the
service of consultants for specialized areas of design and have worked
consistently with the same consultants for mechanical and electrical consultation since
1966. Their philosophy of service aligns with ours and they have assisted
us in providing comfortable and efficient environments for buildings designed by
our firm.
